'300' and the Iran Controversy

What are sane, logical, and reasonable people to do when confronted by utter lunacy? Such a question came to mind last week upon reading a news story as reported by the semi-official Iranian FARS News Agency. Last Tuesday, Iranian Government Spokesman Gholam Hossein Elham spoke to reporters during his weekly press briefing about the recently released Warner Brothers film 300, which he assaulted as a "fabrication of culture", and an "insult" to the Iranian people, all of which the Iranian government considers as a "hostile" move against the Iranian nation.

To the Editor:

This letter is written in response to "Indian Point: A Disaster Waiting to Happen." It was poorly researched and the few facts the author did cite were twisted and identical to the arguments made on the many anti-Indian point websites. Why not just copy paste Wikipedia?

The article cited the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's worries that Indian Point might not be able to survive the impact of a large impact.

There is no place quite like Washington, D.C. Few experiences can compare to peering out the observation windows of the Washington Monument only to see Marine One carrying President Bush and landing on the back lawn of the White House - staring at all this from 555 feet above land.

Housing selection just passed, which means that more than half of this campus has probably been in a bad mood for the past week because they didn't get their first choice room. Trust me guys, I feel you. As a matter of fact, I was in your position just one year ago when I was told my first choice room, Lehy 410, was already taken.

Bette Midler once said, "Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world." For the past few months, many of us at Holy Cross have been conquering the world in UGG boots essentially every day. With spring officially here, it will be refreshing to see the emergence of bright colored flats, cute flip flops or espadrilles, and of course, the always trusty Rainbow sandals.

Question: Where do you go to find the guys who play like all stars and party like rock stars?
Answer: 125 College Street

The gentlemen who live at 125-Scott Hampe, Zach Henderson, Matt Blake, Matt Perron, Mike Miller, Bill Hughto, Kevin O'Dea, Rob Oteri, Andrew Tenaglia, and Matt Foley- live like kings in this enormous off-campus house that some might even venture to deem a "palace.

Dear Readers,

We thought we'd try something a little different this week. We'll be doing short reviews to recap of some of the movies that have been released so far this year including our takes on 300, Dead Silence, Zodiac and Wild Hogs. We'll be back next week with a review of Antoine Fuqua's Shooter starring Mark Wahlberg.
The Lookout - March 30, 2007
Screenwriter Scott Frank (Out of Sight) makes his directing debut with this crime thriller about an all-American teenager whose charmed life takes a nosedive when he crashes his convertible.

This past spring break, I wasn't lucky enough to go to Fort Lauderdale, Cancun, or any place particularly exotic. However, I did get to travel from my home in Connecticut and brave four degree weather in New York City to see Wicked, a Broadway musical taking theatre by storm.

So my bracket is pretty torn up, although I still have all my final four teams remaining. It was a little disappointing to see the lack of upsets in the first few rounds of this year's NCAA tournament, but that makes for some powerhouse contests in the regionals.

Despite the extensive winter covering Worcester and most importantly Fitton Field with snow, the baseball team has begun their season. Due to the inclement weather, all games have been played on the road and in the south against very talented teams.

The Crusaders opened up the regular season way back on February 17th in Beaumont, Texas, where they faced off against Lamar in a three game series.

As high school seniors bound for Worcester in the fall of 2003, they watched the Crusaders emerge from the Hart Center as Patriot League Champions before barely falling to Marquette in a tense first-round game.

Southbridge Street Development in the Works

The latter image, Holy Cross hopes, will no longer be seen because the college is exploring a development plan to create a pedestrian accessible shopping center that boasts retail, office, and commercial space.
